What Check looks for

Contracts only, including amendments: Ukrainian, English or bilingual.

  • Structure

    Gaps and duplicates in clause numbering, empty clauses, annexes mentioned but missing.

  • Cross-references

    References to clauses that don’t exist, ranges that run past the end, broken Word fields.

  • Defined terms

    Terms defined twice or never used, written in lower case, used before the definition — Ukrainian case forms included.

  • Parties

    A role that isn’t a party, names that differ between the preamble and the details, a different signatory.

  • Bank and company details

    Ukrainian company and tax numbers (EDRPOU, RNOKPP) and IBAN by their check digits; the bank code (MFO) against the IBAN.

  • Amounts, dates and periods

    Digits against words, impossible dates, table totals and VAT, a contract price that changes between clauses.

  • Language and clean-up

    Spelling, mixed Latin and Cyrillic letters, template leftovers, tracked changes and comments left behind.

  • Legislation

    Recognises references to Ukrainian acts and flags those no longer in force, such as the Commercial Code.

Two languages, one contract

For contracts in two columns, Ukrainian and English, Check pairs the clauses and shows where they part ways: a clause in one language only, different amounts or dates, references to different clauses, a negation in one language, a term translated differently, party details that differ.

It can also turn the table into one clause per row — as a new file, and it refuses if the text of either column would change.

Questions and answers

Which files can I check?

DOCX and ODT up to 50 MB, or the pasted text of a contract. Old .doc files can’t be read — save the file as DOCX first.

What exactly is checked?

Structure and numbering, cross-references, defined terms, parties, bank and company details, amounts and dates, language and leftovers, references to legislation, and for bilingual contracts — whether the columns match. Any check can be switched off or given another level.

Does it check other documents — invoices, acts?

No — contracts only, including amendments: Ukrainian, English or bilingual.

Is this legal advice?

No. Check looks at the technical quality and consistency of the text, not the legal position or whether the terms are good for you. The decision stays with you or your lawyer.

Where does my contract go?

Nowhere. It is read and checked in your browser; neither the file, its text, any fragment nor the file name reaches a server.

Does it work offline?

Yes. After you sign in online, the checker opens without a connection for up to 7 days after your last online sign-in.

How are bilingual contracts handled?
